KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team will start post-season play in the 2022 ASUN Semifinals against the number two seed Liberty on Thursday, May 5 at 4:00 p.m., at the Rock Lacrosse Center in Jacksonville, Fla.

The winner will advance to Saturday's championship game, also in Jacksonville. All three games in this year's ASUN Tournament will be shown live on ESPN+.

A FEW NOTES

» This is the fifth meeting in program history between the Owls and the Flames. The Flames currently lead the series 4-0. That includes not only the last meeting between the two, a 16-9 win by the Flames on KSU's Senior Day this past Saturday, but this is also a rematch of the 2021 ASUN Semifinal game. That contest saw a shorthanded KSU squad fall by a 23-11 score in Kennesaw.

Siena Gore is the driving force behind the Owls' scoring production, as the senior midfielder is currently third in total goals with 79 and third in goals per game (4.65). The Alpharetta, Ga. native is also fifth in the NCAA in points (97), and fifth in draw controls (8.88 pg). In her game against Jacksonville State on April 9, she became the fourth player in NCAA history to reach 300 career goals.Â

» Gore isn't the only Owl that is shining in 2022. As a team, KSU is currently ranked 14th in the NCAA in shot percentage (.478) and 28th in free percentage (.480). Their 14.65 goals per game average is also the 24th-highest in the country.

SCOUTING THE FLAMES
Midfielder Mackenzie Lehman leads the Flames in goals scored this season with a total of 37. She also has 12 assists for a team leading 49 points. Attacker Jordan Sheive leads the team in assists with 14 on the season. Protecting the net for the Flames is Jennifer Soriero, who has posted 101 saves and a save percentage of .371 this season.

GORE SWEEPS ASUN ACCOLADES
Siena Gore pulled off an impressive double-sweep on Wednesday, as she became the second player in ASUN history to be named both Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She is also the only player in league history to earn Player of the Year honors twice.

Siena Gore also set history by becoming the first player in ASUN history to be named First Team All-ASUN four times. She was joined on the first team by
Roslyn Talbert, while
Hannah Barth was a second team selection.
Devon Webb and
Hannah Davis were selected to the ASUN All-Freshman squad.

MOST GOALS IN PROGRAM HISTORY
The Owls finished the 2022 regular season with 249 goals, which is the most goals in program history. The team outplaced the 2017 and 2019 squads, who finished tied with 247 goals. This gives Owl squads under head coach
Laura Maness the top four spots in program history for goald scored.Â

OWLS POST SCHOOL-RECORD SEASON
KSU used its senior heavy lineup to its advantage this year, crushing the school record for most wins in a season thanks to an 11-6 mark entering the ASUN Semifinals. This is the first-ever winning season for the Owls as well, as the previous high for wins in a season had been eight.

OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION FOR THE OWLS
Graduate transfer
McKenzie Jackson has accumulated 30 goals (tied for second on the team) and 32 draw controls so far this season. The attacker was a two-time First-Team All-Sunshine State Conference selection for Embry-Riddle. Also ranking high on the squad is senior
Chesslyn Lamar who is having a career season, and is currently tied for second on the squad in goals (30) and tied for second in points (40).Â
