KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State baseball fell to Stetson by a score of 10-9 on Saturday afternoon at Stillwell Stadium. The loss snaps the Owls (29-22, 16-10) five-game win-streak over the Hatters (23-27, 8-18).
The Kennesaw State offense collected 12 hits and had seven-of-nine starters reach base safely. Five Owls registered two-or-more while three added multiple-RBI performances.
Cash Young blasted his 15th home run of the season to tie the Kennesaw State single-season record. The third baseman finished the ballgame 1-for-5.
Tyler Simon added his fifth long ball of the year which gave the Owls the lead in the bottom of the sixth. The shortstop went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. He is now nine games away from breaking the KSU career-games record. Â
Donovan Cash continued his hot streak and ended the game 2-for-4 with a home run and a double. The freshman has collected seven-consecutive multi-hit games and leads the team with 25 on the year.
Josh Hatcher was a catalyst out of the leadoff spot with another multi-hit day. The senior was 2-for-5 with one run scored. He has now added 22 multi-hit games on the season.
Nick Hassan and Brayden Eidson paced the bottom of the lineup, and each contributed two hits. Hassan scored one run while Eidson scored twice.
Kennesaw State jumped out to an early lead, but the Hatters tied it up in the sixth. A two-run homer from Simon gave the Owls the lead, but Stetson answered with a three-run blast in the ninth to earn the 10-9 win.
