KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State baseball belted four home runs including two grand slams in a dominant 23-5 win over Stetson on Friday night inside Stillwell Stadium. With the win, the Owls (29-21, 16-9) secured their fifth victory in-a-row over the Hatters (22-27, 7-18).
The KSU offense posted season-highs in both runs (23) and hits (22) in the ballgame. The team had seven starters post 2-or-more hits while five produced multiple RBI.
Tyler Simon tied a career high with four RBI in the contest. The senior finished 2-for-4 with a grand slam and three runs scored. Tonight's game marked his 221st in the Black & Gold and is 10 away from breaking the Kennesaw State career games record.  
Donovan Cash continued his multi-hit streak with a 4-for-6 performance. The first baseman has posted two-or-more hits in six-consecutive games and has collected a team-leading 24 on the year. Cash also set a new career-high with four RBI in the contest.
Spencer Hanson belted a grand slam in the fourth inning and concluded the evening 4-for-5 with four RBI and three runs scored. The KSU designated hitter set new single-game highs for hits, runs scored and RBI.
Cash Young reached base in all six at-bats tonight. The third baseman finished 4-for-4 with two walks, a double, four RBI and three runs scored. The game marked the senior's first four-hit performance of the season.
Nick Colina came off the bench with a pinch-hit, three-run homer to right field. The outfielder was 1-for-3 at the plate with a walk and two runs scored.
Josh Hatcher recorded two hits out of the leadoff spot with two runs and an RBI. Hatcher recorded his 21st game with multiple hits and is one-of-three Owls to start all 50 games.
Nick Hassan continued his hot streak with a 3-for-4 night. The catcher scored one run and is batting .538 in his last four games (7-for-13).
Stetson scored in the top of the first to take an early lead. The team drew two walks, executed a sacrifice bunt, and scored on a fielder's choice.
The Owls wasted no time and answered with three runs in their first at-bat. Simon ripped a single up the middle and advanced to second on a base knock from Zac Corbin. Cash then ripped his 17th double of the year to tie things up.
Young became the fourth consecutive Owl to reach safely when he lined a two-RBI single to left field. This gave KSU a 3-1 lead and marked the 10th time the team has scored in its first at-bat this season.
A Simon grand slam and Cash solo shot highlighted a six-run second inning from KSU. Kennesaw State scored five runs before Stetson recorded an out. Hudson Mimbs was hit by a pitch and advanced to third after back-to-back base-hit bunts from Hassan and Brayden Eidson.
Hatcher laced a bases-loaded single to right before Simon cleared the bases with a grand slam off the Bailey Building. Two batters later, Cash left the yard for his fifth on the year. This moved the score to 9-1 after two frames.
Kennesaw State flexed its strength again in the fourth. With the bases-loaded, Hanson launched a grand slam to left field for the Owls' third homer and second grand slam on the afternoon. This broke the game open and moved the KSU advantage to 13-2.
In the fifth, KSU scored seven times on six hits. Colina came in with a pinch-hit, three-run bomb to right field to move the score to 20-2. This was the fourth long ball of the night for the KSU offense.
Stetson hit a two-run homer in the sixth to make it a 20-4 ballgame, but the Owls added three in the bottom half to extend their lead, 23-4.
KSU is back in action tomorrow for game two of its ASUN series with Stetson. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. inside Stillwell Stadium with Senior Day ceremonies set to begin at 1:40 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase by clicking here.
