Senior Day Battle for Second Place set for Saturday

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team closes out the regular season Saturday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium with a Senior Day contest against Liberty in the ASUN finale for both teams. The senior ceremony is slated to begin at 11:40 am, while the match will start at 12 p.m., and the game will be available on ESPN+ featuring the call of Bryce Gaubert and Brandon Sutton.
 
A FEW NOTES
 
» It's a fight for second place in the ASUN, as both teams come into the regular season finale with 3-1 records. The Owls are looking for the first-ever top-two finish in school history, after placing third in the regular season twice before.
 
» Both teams are also already locked into the second semifinal game of next week's ASUN Tournament, with the winner getting the No. 2 seed and the loser will fall to the third overall seed. The top four make this year's ASUN Tournament.
 
» Saturday is Senior Day for the Owls, and eight players will be making their final appearance at Fifth Third Bank Stadium: Siena Gore, Roslyn Talbert, McKenzie Jackson, Carson Pearson, Chesslyn Lamar, Payton Gregory, Sam Campanella and Camryn Klaus.
 
» This is the fourth meeting in program history between the Owls and the Flames. The Flames currently lead the series 3-0.
 
» Siena Gore is the driving force behind the Owls' scoring production, as the attacker is currently is third in total goals with 77 and third in goals per game (4.81). The Alphraetta, Ga. native is also fourth in the NCAA in points (95), and fifth in draw controls (8.88 pg). In her game against Jacksonville State on April 9, she became the fourth player in NCAA history to reach 300 career goals. 
 
» Gore isn't the only Owl that is shining in 2022. As a team, KSU is currently ranked 14th in the NCAA in shot percentage (.484) and 28th in free percentage (.479). Their 15.12 goals per game average is also the 20th-highest in the country.
 
» KSU is currently off to the best start in school history at 11-5, as the 11 wins is also a new school standard.
 
» The Owls return nine of 11 starters from last year's squad, and a total of 20 overall players. 
 
Scouting the Flames
Midfielder Mackenzie Lehman leads the Flames in goals scored this season with a total of 36. She also has 11 assists for a team leading 47 points. Attacker Jordan Sheive leads the team in assists with 13 on the season. Protecting the net for the Flames is Jennifer Soriero, who has posted 93 saves and a save percentage of .362 this season.

The Owls head to Jacksonville, Florida to compete in the ASUN Conference semifinals on Thursday, May 5.
