KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball additions to the 2022-23 roster now stands at two as Ahmad Johnson will be transferring in with three years of eligibility for the Owls, KSU head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim announced on Saturday.
"Ahmad Johnson is a guy that we are ecstatic to add to our program," said Abdur-Rahim. "A dynamic scorer that can score from all three levels. Ahmad has a high level of care about his development both on and off the court which matches who we are as a program. We love who he is as a competitor but love who he is as a person even more."
Johnson, a 6-4 guard, averaged 16.2 points per game while shooting 36.2% from three-point range this past season for Colby CC Trojans in Kansas. The Punta Gorda, Fla., native started 28 of 30 games and recorded eight 20+ point games including a career-high of 30 during the season,. his second with the Trojans.
Playing for Charlotte HS in Punta Gorda, Johnson averaged 21.7 points per game as a senior while adding 7.3 rebounds per contest. He would help the Fightin' Tarpons to a 20-9 record in 2019-20 and led them to the fourth round of the Florida Class 6A State Tournament.
