DELAND, Fla. – Kennesaw State baseball earned the three-game series sweep of Stetson with a 7-1 win on Sunday afternoon inside Conrad Park. With the win, the Owls (21-9, 10-2 ASUN Conference) became the first team in the ASUN standings to reach the 10-win mark in conference play.
The KSU pitching staff held the Hatters (16-15, 4-8 ASUN) to 13 hits on the weekend and allowed only four runs. The Owls threw seven pitchers and combined for 25 strikeouts.
Brayden Eidson (3-0) made his second start on the mound and tossed five strong innings. The lefty allowed one run on four hits and struck out two. Eidson induced eight flyouts and four groundouts in the win.
The Kennesaw State offense continued its impressive stretch at the plate. The Owls registered double-digit hits for the 18th time this season. Six starters recorded at least one base knock while four went for two-or-more.
In the top of the fourth,
Cash Young smashed a solo shot to left field for his third home run on the weekend. The KSU third baseman finished the afternoon 2-for-4 and drove in two runs for the offense.Â
The Hatters had no answer for
Josh Hatcher all weekend. The KSU outfielder finished the day 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Hatcher extended his hit streak to 25 games and has reached base safely in each of the last 29 contests.
Hudson Mimbs added another impressive performance. The freshman registered his eighth multi-hit game in his last nine starts. Mimbs finished 2-for-4 and contributed five hits in the series sweep.
Nick Hassan scored once and collected two hits in the series finale. He was joined by
Zac Corbin and
Spencer Hanson who also added one hit and one run scored.

The Owls struck first and scored three runs in the top of the third. Hassan singled to begin the inning and advanced to second when
Nick Colina drew a walk. Hatcher broke the scoreless tie with a double to center field that brought in KSU's first run. The Owls scored two more on sacrifice flies to push the lead to 3-0.
Luke Torbert and
Jared Rine pitched the final four innings to secure the series sweep for the Owls. The KSU bullpen allowed only one hit and induced two double plays.
