Conference play rolls on the for the Kennesaw State softball team with a three-game tilt against the Lipscomb Bisons starting with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 2.
 
KSU looks to rebound after dropping a road rematch against Georgia Tech Wednesday.
 
The Owls enter the series 2-1 at home in conference games this season.
 
Weekend Promotions
This weekend, KSU softball boasts several fun promotions at Bailey Park. Saturday, the doubleheader is headlined by 'Youth Softball Day' where fans can get pictures with Scrappy and kids will get the opportunity to run the bases after the second game.
Sunday, fans can get postgame autographs from the team on the field. For both days of the three-game series, fans can pick up a KSU softball BINGO card inside the gate at Bailey Park that features various in-game situations and the first three fans to bring a 'BINGO' to the marketing table will receive prizes!

Gameday Storylines
>> Taylor Cates leads the team in home runs (11), doubles (8), runs (22), hits (34), batting average (.410), OPS % (1.351), RBI (25), total bases (75), on-base percentage (.447), stolen bases (7) and slugging percentage (.904).
>> Cates also holds the ASUN lead in home runs and slugging percentage.
>> Faith Alexander has 23 hits and 14 RBI in 20 games played this season. She is second on the team in batting average (.329).
>> Pitcher Melanie Bennett has accounted for more than half of KSU's innings pitched this season (88.1 of 176.0) and strikeouts (80 of 131).
>> Freshmen Isabella Galloway and Madison Miller each have 11 hits this season.

A Familiar Foe
The Bisons lead the all-time series against the Owls with a 20-19 record. KSU has won the last two meetings in the series.
The two last met on April 11, 2021 where the Black and Gold won via run-rule, 11-0 after a stellar outing from starter Melanie Bennett.
KSU has won six of the last seven home meetings in the series.

ASUN Rising
The Owls enter 2022 after reaching the ASUN tournament championship game a season ago. KSU was picked to finish second in the conference by coaches from the conference. Taylor Cates, Brinaya Bailey and Melanie Bennett were named to the preseason ASUN All-Conference team.

2021 Rewind
Head coach Tripp MacKay leads the squad after closing out the 2021 campaign in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, where the program earned its first victory in a Division I NCAA tournament game, defeating the Auburn Tigers 1-0. The Owls also dominated in the ASUN tournament, making it all the way to the ASUN championship game against the Liberty Flames.

On Deck
The homestand concludes Wednesday, April 6 for a midweek battle with the Mercer Bears for Student Appreciation Night.
KSU enters the game 2-0 against the in-state rival this season.
First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. on ESPN+ and admission is free for all 2022 Kennesaw State softball games at Bailey Park.
