Box Score
CULLOWHEE, N.C. – No. 69 Kennesaw State women's tennis won its ninth straight match in a 6-1 win over Western Carolina this morning. The Owls extended their record-breaking start and improved to 9-0, with eight wins secured away from home. The eight road victories are the second-most that KSU women's tennis has posted in a single season behind the 10 road wins from 2011.

Director of Tennis Matt Emery on the Win
"Credit to WCU for playing a great doubles point. The way we responded to that doubles point on the road, against a really good and confident team like WCU, was championship-caliber. When we compete with that type of edge, it is very, very difficult for teams to get four points on us. I continue to be amazed every day at how resilient and competitive this group is."

How it Happened
The Owls fell behind 1-0 after falling in the doubles matches for only the second time this year. Prior to today's contest, the team had won seven out of eight doubles points. Kennesaw State made up for the slow start and rattled off wins in all six singles matches to notch the 6-1 victory.

Kat Muzik led the charge from court one with a 6-0, 6-4 win.
Ji Youn Lee,
Valentina Taddia,
Sophia Unger and
Sofia Pinedo all followed with two-set victories.
Taylor Dean secured the singles sweep after she earned a 7-6(5), 4-6, 10-5 win on court two.

Hot Streak
Ji Youn Lee's 6-3, 6-0 victory from court three marked her ninth consecutive win on the season. The senior is the only member of the KSU women's tennis team who remains unbeaten.

Women's Tennis in the Polls
The Owls set another program record last week, when the squad was ranked inside the top 75 of the Division I Women's ITA Collegiate Tennis computer rankings for the first time in school history. The team is currently ranked No. 69 and is positioned to climb after three wins in the last four days. The new poll will be announced tomorrow afternoon.
