NORFOLK, Va. – Kennesaw State women's tennis fell to No. 31 Old Dominion 7-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Monarchs handed the Owls their first defeat on the 2022 season after the team began the year with nine consecutive victories. Â
Â
KSU Director of Tennis Matt Emery on the Match
"Today was an invaluable experience for our team. ODU has a very strong team, especially indoors, and they didn't blink today, which is what really good teams do. Â We put ourselves in position to win several matches, and they just didn't go our way. As always, I couldn't be more proud of this group. We are looking to finishing this spring break trip strong on Sunday and then prepare for the ASUN opener next weekend."
Â
How it Happened
The Owls lost the doubles point for only the third time this season. Old Dominion jumped out to an early 1-0 lead and did not let up in singles play. The Monarchs swept the singles points and posted their second consecutive 7-0 victory.
