DeLand, Fla. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis made history in a 7-0 win over Stetson at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center on Sunday.
The victory improved KSU to 12-4 overall and 4-0 in the ASUN. Today's win marked the first time in program history KSU has won four consecutive ASUN matches. The four ASUN wins are tied for the most in program history in a season.
KSU won the doubles point and six singles matches to clinch the victory.
In doubles, Stetson picked up their lone win of the day on court two. KSU then took over and never looked back.
Hugo Salmeron and
Matthew Terry beat Tim Gennes and Fabian Penkofer 6-2.
Harvey Conway and
Raul Garcia picked up a 6-4 win over Ervin Eminefendic and Tristan Dumas to clinch the point.
Conway opened the scoring for the Owls with a 6-0, 7-5 win over Eminefendic on court three. ASUN Player of the Week,
Matthew Terry defeated Marques 6-4, 6-4 on court one to push the lead to 3-0.
Kevin Patel clinched the victory on court four when he beat Penzkofer 6-4, 6-4. Garcia collected a 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 win over Dumas.
Hugo Salmeron and
Sergio Ingles needed three sets but each collected victories. Salmeron won 2-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-0 over Sami Ozzor. Ingles defeated Gennes 3-6, 7-6 (7-5) , 1-0 (10-5).
