JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis came from behind to secure a 4-3 win over North Florida on Friday afternoon at the UNF Tennis Complex.
The win gave KSU its second consecutive at UNF and moved the Owls to 11-4 overall and 3-0 in ASUN Conference play.
"Proud of the men for pulling through in a tough and physical match on the road," Director of Tennis
Matt Emery said. "Huge shoutout to Sergio for pulling out the win in his first match back this spring and to Raul for clinching the win. Now we will take care of our bodies, recover and get ready for a talented Stetson team on Sunday."
KSU won four singles matches to seal the victory.
The Ospreys grabbed the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead with victories on courts one and two.
UNF opened the singles action with a victory on court one pushing their lead to 2-0.
Kevin Patel got the Owls on the board first with a 6-4, 6-1 win over PJ Kotan.
Sergio Ingles returned to the lineup and defeated Rodrigo Crespo 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.
Hugo Salmeron needed three sets but was able to put away Bruno Vietri 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 to give the Owls a 3-2 lead. UNF would pick up another win on court three to tie the match.
Raul Garcia secured the KSU win downing Nilo Duarte 3-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.
The Owls will head to DeLand, Fla. to face Stetson on Sunday, March 27 at 2 p.m.
