ASUN Conference play begins for the Kennesaw State softball team with a three-game home series against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.

A doubleheader on Saturday, March 19 at 1:00 p.m. gets the action going followed by game three on Sunday, March 20 at 12:00 p.m.

Weekend Promotions

Saturday's games feature a new in-game promotion 'KSU Softball BINGO.' Fans will receive a BINGO card upon entering Bailey Park with various in-game situations.
Â
The first fan to return their card with 'BINGO' to the marketing table will receive an autographed softball and a $10 Jimmy John's gift card. The next two fans who return a completed 'BINGO' will each receive a $10 Jimmy John's gift card.

Sunday's contest is headlined with the '7 Innings of Winning' promotion, where prizes will be given out in between each half inning.

Prizes include an iPad, a team-autographed game ball, a $100 KSU Bookstore gift card and more!

In addition to the prizes, the team will be signing autographs after the conclusion of game three.

Gameday Storylines
>> KSU softball has won five straight conference games against teams from Alabama.
>> Taylor Cates leads the team in home runs (8), doubles (7), runs (18), hits (26), batting average (.407), OPS % (1.340), RBI (17), total bases (57) and slugging percentage (.905).
>> Cates also holds the ASUN lead in home runs and slugging percentage.
>> Faith Alexander is tied with Cates for the team-lead in on-base percentage (.435).
>> Alexander has 15 hits and 11 runs scored in 12 games played this season. She is second on the team in batting average (.366).
>> Pitcher
Melanie Bennett has accounted for more than half of KSU's innings pitched this season (65.1 of 126.1) and strikeouts (58 of 96). She has earned a victory in her last three appearances and leads the team with a 4.68 ERA.
>> Ty Hardeman and
Isabella Galloway are tied for most hits among KSU freshmen with nine.
A Familiar Foe
JSU leads the all-time series, 11-4 but the Owls won the last meeting on Feb. 9, 2020 in a 12-0 rout.
The win marked one of two meetings KSU had against the Gamecocks that season, both resulted in Owl victories via run-rule.
The Black and Gold have won the last three meetings at Bailey Park.
ASUN Rising
The Owls enter 2022 after reaching the ASUN tournament championship game a season ago. KSU was picked to finish second in the conference by coaches from the conference.

Melanie Bennett were named to the preseason ASUN All-Conference team.
2021 Rewind
Head coach
Tripp MacKay leads the squad after closing out the 2021 campaign in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, where the program earned its first victory in a Division I NCAA tournament game, defeating the Auburn Tigers 1-0. The Owls also dominated in the ASUN tournament, making it all the way to the ASUN championship game against the Liberty Flames.
On Deck
The Owls head to Macon, Ga. on Wednesday, March 23 for a rematch against the Mercer Bears. KSU defeated the Bears via run-rule in the JoAnne Graf Classic on Feb. 12, 11-3. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m.
KSU returns home on Saturday, April 2 for games one and two of a three-game tilt against the Lipscomb Bisons. The Owls will celebrate Youth Softball Day at Bailey Park during the doubleheader.
