KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team plays the second of two games in the nation's capital on Thursday as the Owls face off against George Washington. The match starts at 1 p.m. and will be available on ESPN+.

A FEW NOTES

» This is the first meeting in program history between the Owls and the Colonels.

» Siena Gore is the driving force behind the Owls' scoring production, as the senior midfielder is currently the nation's leading scorer at 42 total goals. She's also third in the NCAA in goals per game (4.67) and ninth in draw controls (7.89 pg)

» Graduate transfer McKenzie Jackson has accumulated 13 goals (third-highest on the team) and 19 draw controls so far this season. The attacker was a two-time First-Team All-Sunshine State Conference selection for Embry-Riddle. Ranking second on the squad is senior Chesslyn Lamar who is having a career season, and is currently second on the squad in goals (16) and points (24).

» One advantage for Kennesaw State heading into the schedule, the Owls return nine of 11 starters from last year's squad, and a total of 20 overall players.

» Tori Hampton and Katelyn Walker both pace the George Washington squad this season with five goals each, while Emily Mowbray and Bailey Aaron have notched four goals apiece. Megan Patrick has played the majority of time in the goal and is posting a .438 save percentage along with 49 saves in her four appearances.

» In what is no surprise for the nation's leading scorer, Siena Gore's nine-goal performance against Butler on March 12 is currently the top mark in the NCAA this season. It also ties her career high and the KSU school record as well.

» Kennesaw State cruised in its game against Wofford, scoring the first six goals on the way to a 22-9 win on March 5. The game marked the largest win margin (13 goals) since a 25-3 win at Howard in 2019, and was a season-high in goals for KSU as well.

» Siena Gore picked up back-to-back ASUN Player of the Week honors as she has continued to shine on the offensive side. Over the two week period, she notched 19 total goals over a three-game span, and has now earned ASUN weekly honors 12 times total in her career.

» Kennesaw State claimed its first-ever victory over a Power Five school on Feb. 20 when it held off the Oregon Ducks for 14-13 victory. That was also the first-ever victory for KSU against the Pac-12 Conference, after dropping a pair of games to Arizona State.

» The Owls swept the ASUN Player of the Week awards in week two of competition. Siena Gore brought home Offensive Player of the Week after accumulating five goals, two assists and five draw controls. Errin Crowe earned the first Defensive Player of the Week of her career with a career high eight saves and save percentage of .533.

» KSU placed two on the preseason All-ASUN team. Both were repeat selections, beginning with to no one's surprise, star senior Siena Gore as a midfielder. She was joined by senior defender Payton Gregory.

NEXT TIME OUT
The Owls will play their fourth game in a nine-day span when it hosts Presbyterian on Sunday, March 20 at 2 pm at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
