WINGATE, N.C. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team closed non-conference play with a 4-1 victory over Wingate on Sunday.
The Owls (8-4) picked up the doubles point and three singles victories to clinch the win.
In doubles,
Harvey Conway and
Kevin Patel defeated Petar Basic Palkovic and Jonas Grasmueck 6-1.
Raul Garcia and
Hugo Salmeron downed Luka Brown and Florian Walcher 6-4 on court two.
Daniel Botti and
Seru Tezuka were leading 5-3 on court one when the point was clinched.
Salmeron picked up his eighth win of the year with a 7-5, 6-2 victory. Conway returned to the win column downing Brown 6-4, 6-2. Patel clinched the victory for the Owls defeating Edis Nokic 7-6, 6-3. Botti and Garcia were leading their matches in the third set when the match was clinched.
KSU begins ASUN conference play as it hosts Liberty on Friday, Mar. 18. Match time is set for 6 p.m. at the Betty Siegel Courts for Trivia Night.
