NORFOLK, Va. – The
Kennesaw State men's tennis team fell to No. 48 Old Dominion 4-0 on Thursday afternoon.
The Monarchs won the doubles point and three singles matches to clinch the victory.
"ODU played well today indoors," Director of Tennis
Matt Emery said. "We thumped them pretty good last year so we knew they would be hungry to win this one. Overall, I like the way we competed. We just had to many obstacles to overcome today. Our focus now is finishing the week strong on Sunday and getting back 100 percent healthy before ASUN play begins next Friday."
In doubles,
Raul Garcia and
Hugo Salmeron fell 6-4 in a highly contested battle on court two.
Garcia was leading in the second set and Salmeron was in a third-set tiebreaker in singles when the match was clinched.
The Owls travel to Wingate, N.C. to face Wingate on Sunday, Mar. 14. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
