CONWAY, S.C. - The Kennesaw State men's tennis fought but came up on the short end of a 4-2 loss against Coastal Carolina at the Lynn Stevens Tennis Complex on Saturday.
"Tough one today," Director of Tennis
Matt Emery said. "We were thrown some adversity over the past couple weeks due to COVID-19 and preparation was definitely affected. That being said, we could have handled that adversity better today. We are excited to be healthy again and get back to work next week."
The Chanticleers won the doubles point and three singles matches to secure the victory.
CCU picked up wins on court one and two to grab the doubles point.
Raul Garcia and
Hugo Salmeron were tied 4-4 with Steve Mundt and Carlos Berna Cruz on court three when CCU clinched the point.
The Chanticleers picked up a win to open singles and grab a 2-0 lead.
Harvey Conway got KSU on the board with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Carlos Berna Ruiz on court four.
Matthew Terry took down Bastien Huon 6-4, 6-3 to make the score 3-2. CCU clinched the victory on court five.
Hugo Salmeron's match with Daiki Tanabe on court six went unfinished. They were tied 6-6 in the second set when the match was called.
The Owls will travel to Boiling Springs, N.C. to take on Gardner-Webb on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m.
