KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State men's tennis team battled but came up just short in a 4-2 loss against Georgia State at the Betty Siegel Courts on Friday.
The Panthers won the doubles point and three singles matches to secure the victory.
Georgia State picked up wins on court one and three to grab the doubles point.
Matthew Terry and
Hugo Salmeron were leading 5-4 on court two before GSU clinched the doubles point.
Matthew Terry got KSU on the board with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Roberts Grinvalds on court one. GSU then picked up two singles victories to take the 3-1 lead.
Hugo Salmeron kept the Owls in the hunt taking down Diego Padilha in three sets 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 to make the score 3-2. GSU clinched the victory on court three.
Raul Garcia's match with Andrei Duarte on court two went unfinished. Garcia was leading 4-3 in the third set when the match was called.
The Owls will play host to Tennessee Tech at the Betty Siegel Courts on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 3 p.m.
