KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team opens up the 2022 season on the road against the seventh-ranked Florida Gators on Saturday in Gainesville. The game starts at 1 p.m. and will be streamed live on YouTube
A FEW NOTES
» This is the third straight year the Owls have met the Gators on the lacrosse field, and the third straight year that Florida is ranked in the contest. The previous two meetings were both played in Kennesaw at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
» KSU is opening on the road for the second straight season after a 15-7 loss at Coastal Carolina to begin the 2021 season.
» Siena Gore is the driving force behind the Owls' scoring production, as the midfielder was fourth in the nation in 2021 in goals per game with 4.79, while her 67 total goals were eighth overall in the NCAA. Gore also ranked first in the nation in free position goals per game at 2.36.
» One advantage for Kennesaw State this season, the Owls return nine of 11 starters from last year's squad, and a total of 20 overall players. Sixth-year head coach Laura Maness is hopefully that experience will be an advantage for KSU this season.
