KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball is near the end of a seven-game stretch away from its home court, as the Owls will take on the Charleston Southern Buccaneers in a Monday night contest at 7 p.m. in the Buccaneer Fieldhouse in Charleston. Friday's contest will be streamed live on ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ Kennesaw State is 3-2 over the first five games of its current seven-game road swing, including Friday's 66-63 victory at Mercer. Not only did that break a 10-game losing streak to the Bears, it was also the first win for KSU in Macon since 2010.
♦ During the current road stretch, the Owls have also claimed a four-point road win at Appalachian State. That victory not only gave KSU its best-ever start in Division I play (4-1), but gave the Owls national attention, as for the first time in program history they received votes in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll.
♦ If KSU claims a victory over Charleston Southern on Monday, it would set a new Owl record for most non-conference road victories in the school's Division I history at three.
♦ Monday's game is a return trip of last year's contest in Kennesaw. In that contest, the Owls turned in one of their most complete games of the year in an 89-52 victory on Nov. 28 in the Convocation Center. That was the first meeting ever between the two schools.
♦ The Owls have high hopes entering the season, as they return all five starters from last year's squad that set new program highs for both NET and KenPom rankings while coming just one win short of matching the school's Division I win record.
♦ KSU features four new scholarship players this season, highlighted by freshman Simeon Cottle of College Park, Ga., and Temple transfer Quincy Ademokoya.
