A FEW NOTES
♦ The Owls game against Central Arkansas will be the second-ever meeting between the two schools. KSU won the initial meeting last season, an 83-72 win in the Convocation Center on Feb. 9, 2022.
♦ The Owls' contest against Eastern Kentucky is a rematch of the ASUN First Round tournament game from March, won by the Owls 82-73. That was the first win in five meetings for KSU against the Colonels.
♦ KSU is eager to prove it's a contender for the top of the ASUN despite being picked eighth in the preseason coaches' poll. The Owls have reasons for such optimism, as they have already set numerous firsts this season including:
      - Most non-conference road wins (three).
      - First-ever non-conference winning season (8-5).
      - Most wins as a Division I program before January 1 (eight, old record was five).
      - Most wins over DI teams before January 1 (currently at five, old record was four).
♦ The Owls are looking to win their conference opener for the second straight year, and just second time overall since 2015-16. Overall, KSU is 4-13 all-time in ASUN openers, 4-8 when opening league play at home.
♦ KSU is a perfect 4-0 at home this season and have won six straight in the Convocation Center dating back to last season, which is a program best in Division I play.
♦ KSU is playing on New Year's Eve for the first time since Dec. 31, 2016, an 89-76 win over North Georgia. All-time the Owls are 1-3 when playing a contest on New Year's Eve as a DI program.
