COACH OCTAVIA BLUE QUOTES
On tonight's performance…
"It was a great win. I thought we came out how we wanted to play early and put up some points on the board and had the chance for a career night and break a record for Amani Johnson."
On Amani breaking the scoring record…
"It was awesome. When she missed the last free throw late, I dialed up a play for the very next play and with her being the player that she is, she hit the shot to break the record. It was really great to see."
On setting the school record for points in a game…
"This game will make a huge impact for us as we are getting ready for Eastern Kentucky, who ended our season last year, to open up conference play. It's an opportunity for us to build on what we have started here. We had a lot of people get some playing time tonight which is helping us build depth and confidence in each of those players.
On Bre'Lyn Snipes career night…
"It was amazing. I was looking to her to have a breakout game. She was a starter for us last year and started for the first portion of the season this year. She came out today and was ready when her number was called and hit big shots and got on the offensive glass. One thing we know about her is that Bre'Lyn is going to run the floor and she did a phenomenal job. I was happy to see her break out tonight."
