KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State opens the 2022-23 men's basketball season on Monday night with a 7 p.m. contest against LaGrange College in the Convocation Center.
A FEW NOTES
♦ The Owls have high hopes entering the season, as they return all five starters from last year's squad that set new program highs for both NET and KenPom rankings while coming just one win short of matching the school's Division I win record.
♦ Last year's squad was one of the highest scoring teams in school history, as the Owls averaged 74.8 points per game, just behind the school record 75.0 ppg posted by the 2016-17 squad.
♦ The Panthers were a regular opponent of Kennesaw State during the Owls' time as a NAIA and Division II school, having played a total of 19 games between 1985 and 1995. KSU leads the all-time series 13-6, though did lose the last two in the series. This will be the first meeting between the two in the Convocation Center.
♦ KSU will be playing in front of a home crowd for the first time this season. LaGrange meanwhile played an exhibition game on Nov. 3 at future Owl opponent Mercer, and were handed a 107-56 loss.
♦ The Owls will play just two home games in the first six weeks of the season, with the other to be played against Brewton-Parker on Nov. 14.
