KENNESAW, Ga. –  The road has gotten tougher for the Kennesaw State in its bid for the ASUN Volleyball regular season championship, as a 3-1 home loss to FGCU on Oct. 29 not only snapped KSU's 15-game home win streak, it also knocked the Owls out of the top of the standings. Now, KSU will look to rebound and stay in the title race with four games left in the regular season, but it will not be easy as the Owls have easily the toughest schedule left of any ASUN squad. Not only are three of the four remaining games on the road, the Owls will also play three of the four games against second-place teams in the ASUN, as KSU, Lipscomb, FGCU and Central Arkansas are all tied at 9-3, just one game behind Liberty (8-2).
It all begins this weekend with the Owls' first game of the three-game road swing, a Friday, 7 pm contest at new league member Austin Peay. That will be followed by Saturday's 7 pm game at Lipscomb. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
If the Owls were to win out the regular season, not only would that clinch them at least no worse than second place in the ASUN, it would also mark the fifth straight time that KSU reached the 20-win mark in a full season, not counting the Covid-shortened 2021 spring season. The Owls have also spent a significant part of the season ranked in the top 50 RPI, and are currently 48th in this week's rankings, highest of all ASUN squads.
The biggest key for KSU this season has been its overall depth, as a year ago the Owls were led mostly by the same two players on offense. This year is seeing a very balanced attack, as KSU is routinely playing 11-12 players a match, while the top seven players in the kills category all range between 76-196.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Setter McKinley Ferguson who is having an outstanding junior season, ranking first in aces (0.45 saps) and third in assists (10.57 aps).  Claire Parsons is third in hitting percentage (.347) and fifth in blocks (1.13 bps), while Jasmine Brown is sixth in hitting percentage at .327. Shelby Dennis meanwhile paces the team in digs with 4.51 per set, fifth-best in the conference.

SCOUTING THE GOVERNORS...
Austin Peay has struggled this year when facing ASUN opponents with their conference record sitting at just 4-8. However, despite their record, Austin Peay has fought hard in their conference games, with only two of its conference losses being sweeps.
Across the major six statistical categories, the Governors only have two players rank within the Top 10. Mikayla Powell (3.12 kps) ranks tenth in the league in kills per set and Erin Eisenhart (4.41 dps) ranks sixth in the league in digs per set.

SCOUTING THE BISON...
Lipscomb had a slow start to the season but has play exceptionally well since beginning conference play, and used a six-game win streak to reach the top of the standings before falling to Liberty on Sunday.
The Bison's offense is commanded by Caroline Stogner (3.21 kps) who ranks 7th in the ASUN in kills per set. Another standout on is freshman Setter Sophia Hudepohl (10.07 aps). Continuing the impressive offensive numbers, Lipscomb has two players in the top six in the ASUN in service aces, those being Delaney Smith (0.38 saps) and Caroline Stogner (0.38 saps).
