Owls Hit the Road for Showdown at No. 15 UT-Martin

KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State football travels to northwest Tennessee for a battle with No. 15 UT-Martin. The Owls and Skyhawks have never met in series history as the two teams are scheduled to kickoff at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Top Storylines 
  • Kennesaw State and UT-Martin are set for the first matchup in series history this Saturday. The Owls enter the contest with a perfect 5-0 record against OVC opponents and are 25-14 when playing a team for the first time.
  • Through its first seven games of 2022, the KSU defense has forced 19 turnovers. Last week against Charleston Southern, the Owls swiped one interception and forced one fumble. The team has now forced a turnover in 15-straight games which marks the second-longest streak in program history (22).
  • The Kennesaw State offense has scored a point in 89-straight games and has reached the double-digit mark in each of its last 67 contests. The last time the Owls scored less than 10 points was in November of 2016.
  • Last Saturday, KSU safety Markeith Montgomery moved into first place in the Owl record book for career interceptions (9). Montgomery has posted four picks thus far in 2022, breaking his previous single-season high of three set in 2019.
  • The Owls enter week 10 in the top-3 in multiple FCS categories. The team currently ranks first in the nation in fewest penalty yards (246), second in fewest penalty yards-per-game (30.75) and third in fumbles recovered (10) and average time of possession (35:01).

  • 76 - The Owls have rushed for 150+ yards in 76-straight games versus FCS opponents dating back to week 11 of the 2015 season. 
  • 43 - KSU has won each of the last 43 games when it scores 32 points and is 46-1 all-time when reaching that mark. 
  • 20 - The Owls rank first in the FCS with 20 road wins in the last five fall seasons.
  • 5 - KSU is 5-0 against the OVC with a 2-0 record on the road.
  • 5 - In its 88 games, KSU has only been out-rushed five times.
 
Best Ever  
No other start-up program in college football history had more wins in its first five seasons than Kennesaw State with 48 victories. 
 
Dynasty Mode  
Dating back to week two of the 2017 season, Kennesaw State has won 53 of its last 66 games for an .803 winning percentage. 
 
Minute Men  
In their first eight seasons, the Owls have 69 scoring drives of one minute or less, including a program-best 17 in 2019. Thus far in 2022, KSU has produced five scoring drives of one minute or less.
 
On The Move
On October 14th, Kennesaw State formally accepted an invitation to join Conference USA, effective July 1, 2024. When the Owls move to C-USA, it will mark the 10th season of Kennesaw State football.
