KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball will continue its string of seven-straight games away from its home court with Saturday's 4 p.m. afternoon contest at the VCU Rams. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools and marks the eighth time the Owls will play a team from the Atlantic-10 Conference. KSU is 1-6 all-time against the A-10.
A FEW NOTES
♦ Both teams look to their defense to fuel their offense, as the Owls are 54th in the nation in turnover margin at +4.0 and 44th in steals (9.7 spg) while VCU ranks 25th with 10.4 steals per game.
♦ KSU's road trip has started out successfully, as the Owls won two-of-three in the Appalachian State MTE this past weekend, including a 72-68 win over the host Mountaineers. That win not only gave KSU its best-ever start in Division I play (4-1), but the Owls are starting to get national attention, as for the first time in program history they received votes in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll.
♦ The Owls have high hopes entering the season, as they return all five starters from last year's squad that set new program highs for both NET and KenPom rankings while coming just one win short of matching the school's Division I win record.
♦ KSU features four new scholarship players this season, highlighted by freshman Simeon Cottle of College Park, Ga., and Temple transfer Quincy Ademokoya.
♦ Last year's squad was one of the highest scoring teams in school history, as the Owls averaged 74.8 points per game, just behind the school record 75.0 ppg posted by the 2016-17 squad.
