KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State's
Jasmine Brown and
Caroline Cole were named to the CSC (College Sports Communicators) Academic All-District IV team, it was announced by the national organization on Tuesday.
Student-athletes must be in at least their second season, hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and be a starter or important reserve to be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District teams. District IV is made up of schools in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
Brown, a middle blocker from Powder Springs, Ga., recently completed an outstanding career for the Owls as she helped KSU to the semifinals of the ASUN Tournament, and an 18-10 overall record. She was one of the top blockers in the league, and finished second on the team with 69 blocks while also hitting at a .314 percentage, second-best on the team as well. Her 255 career blocks ranked her third all-time at KSU, while her .284 hitting percentage is fourth-best in team history. A three-time presidential scholar, she currently has a 3.76 cum GPA and will graduate from KSU this December Summa Cum Laude with a degree in biology.
Cole, a defensive specialist from Lexington, Ky., excelled in the classroom with a perfect 4.0 GPA as a criminal justice major. She is in the Honors College at KSU and a two-time Presidential Scholar. Cole was third on the team this year with 185 digs, and also second with 30 assists for the Owls.
