KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State Volleyball signed middle blocker and right-side hitter Haley Patterson to a national letter of intent for the 2023 season, Owl head coach
Keith Schunzel announced on Monday.
"Haley is a perfect fit for our program in nearly every way," said Schunzel. "Her athleticism, her competitiveness, her blue collar attitude and the way she loves to work are all really elite and special things about her as an athlete and a person. You add in a lighting fast arm and someone who can attack at a really high level off of either one or both feet and you have someone who has a chance to do great things at the next level. Haley is a winner and a natural leader with how she works, lives and plays the game, and we couldn't be more excited to have her and her family in this program. "
Patterson, a 6-0 native of Mobile, Ala., finished off an outstanding career for St. Luke's Episcopal School this fall as she earned first-time all-state accolades while leading her team to the AHSAA 3A State Semifinals. Patterson hit a jaw-dropping 738 kills during her senior year, and ranks fifth all-time in the state of Alabama with 2,539 career kills. A member of the AVCA All-American Watch List, she picked up several Player of the Week accolades her senior season, and also was selected to the State of Alabama All-Star Team. Patterson also All-Mobile County and All-State Tournament team honors as a sophomore and junior as well.
NEXT UP: The Owls are off to Nashville for the 2022 ASUN Tournament, held on the campus of Lipscomb University from Thursday-Saturday. KSU will begin play in the quarterfinal round as the sixth seed, and will face third-seed Jacksonville State at 2 pm.
