KENNESAW, Ga. – Back for its second year is the Owl Madness, which marks the first chance for fans to meet this year's Kennesaw State men's and women's basketball team. Once again, the event will be held on the Campus Green on the KSU campus, starting at 5 p.m.
Â
Free food, t-shirts (for the first 250 students), posters and prize giveaways will all be available as Owls' men's basketball head coachÂ
Amir Abdur-Rahim and women's basketball head coachÂ
Octavia Blue will introduce their 2022-23 squads. The KSU cheerleaders will also be in attendance, while the 90-minute event will also feature student contests and will conclude with a poster autograph session and food for all attendees.
Â
Anticipation is high for both teams coming into the season, as the men's team returns all five starters, led by preseason All-ASUN selection
Chris Youngblood, and is looking to build off the momentum of last year's impressive performance that saw numerous records and program standards set. The KSU women meanwhile are in year two of the Coach Blue era and have an impressive group of transfers and returnees on this year's squad, headlined by two-time All-ASUN honoreeÂ
Amani Johnson, the third-leading scorer in program history.Â
Â
Season tickets for both teams are on sale now at KSUOwls.com. Both teams will start their 2022-23 seasons this November, as the men will play their home opener against LaGrange on Monday, Nov. 7. The KSU women's team meanwhile will have an exhibition game on Thursday, Nov. 3 against Young Harris, and their official home opener on Thursday, Nov. 10 against Middle Georgia State.
