ATLANTA, Ga. – The ASUN Conference announced Kennesaw State forward Macie Rainwater as the ASUN Player of the Week Tuesday afternoon after the Kennesaw native notched a brace in a 6-1 victory over Stetson Sunday.
Rainwater's two-goal performance was her first game with multiple goals since scoring a hat trick against Central Arkansas last season in the ASUN Conference Tournament.
This is the second ASUN Player of the Week in a row for the Owls and the first of Rainwater's career, as Tianna Rivera claimed the honor last week.
The sophomore collected her 10th and 11th career goals in the 6-1 win against the Hatters Sunday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Rainwater's first goal came after finding the back of the net off a free kick to give the Owls an early 2-0 lead over Stetson.
Rainwater's second goal came in the 75th minute for her fourth goal of the season. The forward leads the Owls in goals (4), points (9), shots (31) and shots-on-goal (14).
The Owls return to action Thursday in Lynchburg, Va. at 7 p.m. to face No. 5 seed Eastern Kentucky in the opening round of the ASUN Conference Tournament on ESPN+.
