A FEW NOTES
♦ KSU is looking for a win to keep stay close to East leader Liberty (4-0) in the division standings, while the Dolphins are hoping to make a move of their own after bringing a 3-2 record into Monday's game.
♦ The Owls are looking for their first win over Jacksonville since 2018, having lost seven straight to the Dolphins, including the last four in the Convocation Center.
♦ It's expected to be a defensive battle between the two, as Jacksonville ranks sixth in the nation in scoring defense at 57.7 ppg. The Owls however own the top scoring defense in conference play, holding their opponents to a league-low 59.8 points per contest. The Owls also ranks first in the ASUN (conference play only) in field goal defense (34.6%) and turnover margin (+7.0).
♦ The returning experience from last season is paying off on the offensive side, as the Owls' 77.1 ppg average is well ahead of the current school record of 75.0 ppg, set in the 2016-17 season.
♦ KSU has played a challenging non-conference schedule through the first 17 games, which currently ranks as the 27th-toughest non-conference schedule in the nation.
