KENNESAW, Ga. – It's a big day for Kennesaw State basketball on Saturday, Jan. 29, as it is both Tony Ingle Night, where the family of the late Hall of Fame and National Champion coach will be honored pregame, as well as Kennesaw State Basketball Alumni Day.

Alumni from both the men's and women's programs from both Kennesaw State and Southern Polytechnic State University will be honored as well during the doubleheader against North Alabama. The women's team tips off against Lions at 2 p.m., while the men's game will start at 5:30 p.m. Any alumni that are interested in attending and haven't registered yet should sign up online HERE.

It's an exciting time for Owl basketball, with the KSU men currently experiencing their best start ever in its Division I history with the first 3-0 to begin ASUN Conference play in school history along with the best-ever record in the month of January under third-year head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim. The Owl women meanwhile are having a strong season under first-year head coach Octavia Blue.

Every registered alumni for the weekend will be honored at halftime on the court for both games. In addition, there will be pregame socials for the alumni for both teams an hour before each game (1 p.m., 4:30 p.m.) in the Convocation Center Hospitality Suite.

There is a special ticket promotion for the men's game against UNA, as fans can buy two tickets for just $11 total in honor of the 11 years Coach Ingle coached the Owls. That included the 2003-04 season in which he led the Owls to a 35-4 record and the DII National Championship, Georgia's only NCAA basketball national championship at any level. Ingle also guided the Owls into their Division I transition in 2005-06 before stepping down in 2011 as the school's all-time winningest coach with 178 wins.

Ingle passed away early in 2021, but will be represented at the game by his wife Jeanne, his four sons and one daughter, and numerous grandchildren.
