KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State senior Lauren Chastang continued to pick up honors after the end of her outstanding career with the Owls, as she was one of 12 student-athletes named to the ASUN 2021-22 Fall Winners for Life Team on Tuesday. The team is composed of one student-athlete from each of the 12 institutions and honors those who display excellence on and off the playing surface.
The Bay Minette, Ala. native made her impact on the Owls' record book in her final season, as she is the only player in school history to post 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in their career. Her 1,519 career kills is a new KSU record, while she ranks fifth in all-time digs with 1,005. She is also first in career service aces with 161.
This past season, she became the fifth player in ASUN history to receive first-team all-conference honors four times, as she helped the Owls to a 13-3 league record and to second place in the East Division. KSU posted a 12-game win streak going into the ASUN tournament semifinals, as Chastang led the Owls into the tournament semifinal round.
Team captain of the Owls in 2021, she was a member of KSU's 925 Athletic Ministries this year. She led the conference in service aces per set (0.49), ranked fourth in kills per set (3.39) and ended the season ranked 13th in the NCAA with a total of 53 aces.
