The Kennesaw State women's soccer team travels to ASUN newcomer Central Arkansas for its first road game since the Georgia State fixture on Sept. 3.
The Owls ended a 2-1 week with a 1-0 loss to Jacksonville State last Sunday, following wins against North Alabama and Wofford.
The match between the two sides will be the first meeting in the program's history.
A Rivera Runs Through It
Sophomore
Tianna Rivera sits in the lead for points among Owls with five.
Her one-goal, one-assist performance against Wofford earned the winger her first ASUN Player of the Week accolade of her career.
The Floridian assisted both goals in a 2-1 win against Samford on Aug. 29.
Rivera also leads the squad in shots with 19.
Excellent Ebony
Midfielder
Ebony Clarke returned to the side in the 3-0 against North Alabama, and she made her presence known with aplomb.
A throw-in on the right side found the Canadian international, who turned and put her laces through the ball from 25 yards out. The surging shot opened the scoring in the 36th minute after it found the upper-right corner of the net, leaving the Lions' goalkeeper helpless.
The sophomore was sent through on goal by
Jenna Vollrath, and was faced with a one-on-one battle against the North Alabama goalie. Clarke made it look easy, rounding the keeper for the 63rd-minute slot in.
Clarke's performance was the first two-goal performance from an Owl this season.
Next Match
The Owls travel to Nashville, Tenn. to continue their road trip against Lipscomb on Sunday, Oct. 3 at 2 p.m. EST.
