KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's soccer team fell to the Jacksonville State Gamecocks 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in the Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
 
A long throw-in from the right side caused the undoing for the Owls' defense, as a headed-down pass was shot past Dylan Pixton in the 12th minute.
 
Despite carving out their own chances, the Owls were unable to find a foothold in the game. The result moves Kennesaw State to 4-5-0 on the season.
 
"I thought we left some unfinished business on the pitch today," said head coach Benji Walton. "I didn't think it was our best performance. We created a bunch of chances but didn't carry any of the enthusiasm to finish them. Tip of the cap to Jacksonville State, they came to play. They were very composed in their game plan. We've got to be cleaner technically and do better with our attention to detail."
 
The Owls will travel to Central Arkansas for their first conference game against the new ASUN side, beginning their road trip on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m.
