KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State Owls close out their non-conference slate with a pair of games in South Carolina this week, as KSU faces Furman on its home court Thursday night at 6 pm before taking on High Point in a neutral contest Friday at 1 pm.

This is the second and third games in a four-day span for the Owls, all away from Kennesaw as they spent Tuesday night in Birmingham, Alabama, for a 3-0 victory at Samford. That win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Owls, and also improved them to 2-1 on the road.

Following this weekend, KSU will be off until the ASUN opening weekend when it travels to Jacksonville State for three games in three days.

Scouting the Paladins
Furman brings a 5-3 mark into this week's contest after posting a 2-1 mark in the Dolphin Classic, where they defeated ASUN member Jacksonville 3-1 along with Long Island (3-2) while falling to South Florida by a 3-0 score. Thursday will be just their third home match of the season.

Scouting the Panthers
High Point is 6-4 thus far this season, with two losses coming at the hands of Power Five squads North Carolina and No. 4 Pitt, along with a 3-0 loss to No. 12 BYU as well. The Panthers do have wins this season over Bowling Green, Army, and VCU as highlights.

Acing The Competition
The Owls have thrived behind the line this season, as in games played through Sept. 14, they ranked 20th in the nation in service aces per game with 2.03, while the Owls 71 total aces placed them 14th as a team nationally.

Record-setting Performance
Lauren Chastang is having an outstanding senior season for the Owls, as she tied the KSU record for most aces in a match with seven in the win over Alabama. Even more impressively, those came in a three-set match. Her seven aces are also the most in school history in a three-set match.

Chart leaders
Lauren Chastang will leave her mark all over the Kennesaw State record book, as it took just a few games into her 2021 season to become the all-time kills and service aces leader. She currently has 1275 kills in her career, passing Sabrita Gulley (1240), while her seven aces on moved her into first place with 125.
