KENNESAW, GA – Kennesaw State volleyball is set to open the 2021 season this weekend, starting with a Friday afternoon, 4:30 pm contest against Indiana State, part of three games in two days at the CofC Invitational in Charleston, S.C. The Owls will play a pair of games on Saturday, beginning with Montana at 10 am before closing out the weekend against the host College of Charleston Cougars at 2 pm.
 
KSU, picked to finish third in the preseason ASUN Coaches Poll, is coming off a strong season in which the Owls won double-digit games for the eighth straight season at 11-3. Key among the returnees for the Owls is senior outside hitter Lauren Chastang, a preseason All-ASUN selection who ranked second in the league in kills last season while claiming first-time conference honors for the third straight year.
 
This will be the first meeting in program history for KSU with all three of its opponents this weekend. 

COACH SCHNUZEL ON OPENING WEEKEND: "Right now we're just looking to get better form where we've been. Every day of preseason we've seen improvement every day, but we have a long way to go. There are some young players in some key roles, but at the same time we also have a lot of good experience back as well. So we look to continue to work coming together, working on our systems and get better one day at a time."

UP NEXT
The Owls will be back on the road as they take off to Alabama for two games in the UAB Blazer Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama. First up will be a Friday, Sept. 4 game against Georgia Southern at 3 pm, followed by a Saturday, Sept. 5 game against the host UAB Blazers, also with a 3 pm start.
