KENNESAW, Ga- The Kennesaw State softball team fell in a seventh inning walk off Saturday afternoon as Liberty closed out the series with a 3-2 victory.
How it Happened
Liberty got the ball rolling early when Autumn Bishop and Amber Bishop hit back-to-back solo shots in the bottom of the first inning to take an earl 2-0 lead.
The Owls cut the Flames lead by one in the top of the third inning with an RBI single from
Lexi Solorzano to score
Faith Alexander.
In the top of the fifth inning, Solorzano tied the game up 2-2 with an RBI double to center field.
The Flames would walk it off 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning with an RBI sacrifice fly to close out the three-game series.
McKenzie Wagoner (3-2) secured the win after stepping in for relief in the top of the fifth inning, allowing no runs on one hit while striking out one.
Peyton Elzey (0-6) suffered the loss after stepping in for
Melanie Bennett in the bottom of the first inning. Elzey gave up one run on two hits while striking out three.
Next Up
The Owls host No. 20 Georgia on Wednesday, April 7 at 5 p.m. at Bailey Park in a makeup of a game that was postponed earlier this season.
