After two scoreless frames, a sacrifice fly from
Christen Florence would bring home
Faith Alexander to give the Owls a 1-0 lead.
In the top of the fourth inning, junior
Taylor Cates would reach and score off three Knights errors. Alexander added insurance off an RBI single to second base that would plate
Katie Greep and extend the KSU lead 3-0.

Melanie Bennett (14-9), pitched an absolute gem, allowing no runs on three hits while recording a new career-high 14 strikeouts. 14 out of 21 outs were strikeouts from Bennett.
Natalie Magnus (1-6) suffered the loss after 7.0 innings of work, giving up three runs on five hits while striking out three.
Game 2 | Kennesaw State 8, Bellarmine 1
After nothing doing for either side through the first two frames, the Owls took a 2-0 lead after a two-run double to center field from
Taylor Cates.
KSU added five insurance runs in the top of the fourth inning thanks to an RBI single to left field from
Brea Dickey, an RBI bunt single from
Christen Florence and a three-run home run over the left field fence from
Lexi Solorzano.
The Knights responded with an RBI single to left center field from Hattie Hartman to cut into the Owls lead.
Faith Alexander's RBI double down the right field line that brought home
Hope Jiles would seal the deal in an 8-1 decision over Bellarmine on Saturday.
Lindsey Kyte (4-3) tossed a complete game, giving up only one run on four hits while striking out five.
Megan Murphy (1-7) suffered the loss after 4.2 innings, giving up eight runs on 10 hits while striking out four.
