ORLANDO, FLA. – The Kennesaw State Softball team fell to No. 22 Central Florida 5-1 Saturday evening after a five-run sixth inning from the Knights.
How It Happened
The Owls took an early lead thanks to an RBI single to left field from
Taylor Cates that scored
Brea Dickey from second, following a bunt single and a stolen base, to put the Owls on the board 1-0.
Melanie Bennett held the Knights to no hits through five innings.
UCF used a five-run sixth inning to earn the 5-1 win off a two-run double from Georgia Blair, an error and a two-run double to center field from Juliana Wilson.
Bennett (4-5) suffered the loss after 6.0 innings and five strikeouts.
Gianna Mancha (4-1) secured the win for UCF after 7.0 innings of work, striking out seven and giving up only one run on three hits.
