MANESS QUOTES
On the game...
"Florida is a really good program, they're ranked sixth in the country so this was a good home-opener to get our feet wet playing a really good team. Offensively, I thought we moved the ball well, we played with more confidence than we did last week and girls stepped up. We had
Chesslyn Lamar, Siena and
Marissa Gore,
Julia Dell'Angelo and
Natalie Welch all scoring so more productivity overall from Coastal Carolina to today. We were moving the ball better on offense which was great and running the sets cleaner. It just gelled and flowed better. Defensively, we had a lot of caused turnovers so I think our defense was really fighting for each possession they got and creating opportunities for our offense. But again, while we saw some great things Florida is just a really solid program and they were able to pull away from us, but I'm really proud of how the girls worked today and I think that it was a good step to roll into Winthrop with because we know what we need to fix and I think we got better as a team today."
