KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State volleyball freshman
Claire Parsons earned her second ASUN weekly honor in as many weeks, this time taking home the conference's Defensive Player of the Week award.
The award marks only the second time in KSU history a freshman has won Defensive Player of the Week honors with
Katarina Morton earning the accolade as a freshman in 2014.
Parsons was a brick wall at the net this past weekend tallying 14 total blocks against North Alabama to average 2.33 blocks per set.
The Marietta, Ga., native tallied six blocks in the first match before recording a career-high eight stuffs in the second match. She is one of six players in the league to record at least 30 blocks on the year currently ranked fourth in the ASUN averaging 1.1 blocks per set.
Parsons also tallied nine kills over the weekend while hitting .333 and adding three digs and an ace. She committed only three errors on the weekend, hitting .500 with five kills in the first match against UNA.
