DELAND, Fla. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis team fell to Stetson 5-2 on Friday morning in Deland, Fla.

"Stetson played a very good match today," Director of Tennis
Matt Emery said. "We knew today was going to be tough from the standpoint that none of our lineup players today had competed in a conference match before."

The Hatters clinched the doubles point and four singles matches to secure the victory.
In doubles,
Sofia Pinedo and
Soomin Kim fell to Noa Cohen and Gabriel Anais 6-1 on court three.Â
Ji Youn Lee and teammate Valentina Taddia tied doubles up defeating Brooke Milner and Katie Kubicz 6-1 on court two. The Hatters secured the doubles point on court one with a 6-3 win to take an early 1-0 lead.
KSU won two singles matches against Stetson. Lee was pushed to three sets and secured the victory over Danel Ashirova on court two to put the Owls on the board.
Soomin Kim defeated Elodie Foster in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 on court six.

"Overall, we competed and played well today, but we gave in a little bit." Emery said. "I know we are excited to learn from today and come out with a chip on our shoulder tomorrow against FGCU."Â
