CHARLOTTE, N.C. –
The Kennesaw State women's tennis team battled Charlotte to the very end falling 5-2 on Thursday (Mar. 11) at the Halton Wagner Tennis Complex.

"Charlotte did a great job of jumping on us right out of the gate in doubles, Director of Tennis Matt Emery said. "It was a tough start to the day and took us too long to adapt and launch back. In singles, the women responded great. I loved the way we competed at every single spot and we had a chance to get four wins. I know the women are itching to get back out there against Mercer on Sunday."

The 49ers clinched the doubles point and four singles matches to secure the victory.

KSU won two singles matches against Charlotte. Soomin Kim got the Owls going at No. 6 with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Emma Scott. Valentine Taddia followed with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over Emma Wilkins on No. 4.
