KENNESAW, Ga. – The No. 9 Kennesaw State football team opens Big South Conference play on Saturday, welcoming Charleston Southern to town for the sixth all-time meeting between the two programs.

Coach Bo Goes for No. 50
• With a win against Charleston Southern, head coach
Brian Bohannon would be the fastest coach in Big South history to reach 50 career coaching victories, coaching in just his 65th game this Saturday. The next closest coach is former Coastal Carolina HC David Bennett who needed 78 games.
Top Storylines
• The Owls are looking for their third Big South Conference championship in the last four seasons and their fourth consecutive FCS Playoffs appearance this spring.
• KSU is looking to join Coastal Carolina as the only programs in league history to make the playoffs in four consecutive seasons.
• The Owls have dominated the Big South during the last three years, winning 15 of their last 16 conference games and doing so by a 31.6 average margin of victory.
• Kennesaw State is 4-1 in Big South openers and has won three in a row. KSU is also 5-0 when coming off a bye week, scoring at least 36 points in all five games.
• KSU is 3-2 all-time against the Bucs, dropping the first two meetings, before winning three straight.
• Charleston Southern is one of two programs to defeat Kennesaw State twice, knocking off the Owls in 2015 and 2016.
• In the last three meetings, KSU is 3-0 against the Bucs, including outscoring CSU 121-33. Saturday's matchup marks the first opponent the Owls will play for a sixth time.
• The Owls are looking to start 2-0 for the first time since the inaugural season in 2015 when KSU started 3-0.
• Dating back to week two of the 2017 season, Kennesaw State has won 35 of its last 41 games for an 85.3 winning percentage.
• Kennesaw State is 28-5 all-time in Fifth Third Bank Stadium, including winning 19 of its last 20 regular season home games.
• KSU returns seven of 11 starters on defense that ranked No. 3 in the country last year, while eight starters return on offensive for the top rushing attack in the nation.
• KSU is one of five teams in the country to win a playoff game in each of the last three seasons, joined by North Dakota State, JMU, UNI and Weber State. The Owls are also one of nine programs to appear in each of the last three FCS Playoffs.
• Kennesaw State and North Dakota State are the only FCS program to post 11-plus wins in each of the last three seasons.
Season-Opening Dominance
• With a 35-3 victory in the season-opener against Shorter, KSU allowed three points or less for the 11th time in program history.
• In the last two season openers, the Owls have combined to outscore their opponents 94-3.
• In a dominant effort against Shorter, the KSU defense set a program record with six sacks and did not allow a single yard in the second and third quarters, including four consecutive drives of negative yardage.
