GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Kennesaw State softball team fell victim to No. 5 Florida at the Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium Wednesday night.
How It Happened
The Gators took an early 1-0 in the bottom of the first off an RBI single to left field off the bat of Kendyl Lindaman.
After a scoreless frame,
Brea Dickey put the Owls in front by one with a two-run home run to left field.
UF responded with a three-run home run from Charla Echols to take the lead for good.
The Gators extended their lead with two in the fourth inning and four in the sixth. UF went on to secure a 10-2 victory over the Owls. Natalie Lugo (3-0) collected the win going 3.2 innings, giving up two runs on three hits while striking out four.
Melanie Bennett (5-6) suffered the loss. Bennett went 5.1 innings giving up 10 runs on 10 hits.
