Owls and Eagles Take Flight In Altered Weekend

TOP STORYLINES
» The Kennesaw State men's basketball team regular season has been extended as the ASUN announced the addition of two games against FGCU. After having this season's earlier meeting postponed due to COVID related issues, the Owls and Eagles will look for one final tune-up before heading into next week's ASUN Conference Tournament. Neither contest will be broadcasted or open to fans with Friday's game slated to take place at Life University.

» The Owls are locked in as the No. 9 seed in next week's conference tournament. If Jacksonville remains on pause due to COVID protocals, KSU will head into Thursday's quarterfinal game (Mar. 4) taking on the No. 1 overall seed determined by the winner of Saturday's game between Liberty and Bellarmine. If the Dolphins are determined eligible, KSU will then square off with Jacksonville in Wednesday's play in game (Mar. 3). All tournmane tgames will take place in Jacksonville, Fla., between North Florida and Jacksonville's campuses.

» Spencer Rodgers looks to build off his last outing at Lipscomb recording his first double-double as an Owl with 21 points and a career-high 10 rebounds against the Bisons. It was the ninth time this seaosn he has netted 20 or more points with his 16.8 points per game average currently ranked second in the conference. He is one of three players in the league to average over 16 points per game while leading the Owls in steals (23) and ranked second for both assists (42) and rebounds per game (3.6).

» Rodgers wasn't the only Owl to record his first double-double over the past weekend as Alex Peterson logged 12 points and 11 rebounds in game one against Lipscomb. It was just the fourth time this season Peterson has scored double-digits and the first time he has pulled down 10 or more boards. He leads the team and ranks 11th in the ASUN averaging 5.5 rebounds per game.

» Chris Youngblood has been a big piece to the Owls' offense in his first season at KSU averaging 12.2 points per game. Youngblood is currently ranked second on the team and 17th in the ASUN for scoring. He is the only true freshman to rank in the league's top-25 for scoring and is one of 13 players in the league to net over 250 points on the year. Youngblood has netted at least one three-pointer in all but two games, three or more treys in nine games, to rank ninth in the ASUN averaging 2.0 treys per game.
