KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's soccer team will be arriving at the Turner Soccer Complex in Athens to play the University of Georgia Bulldogs this Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
The Owls (1-2) are coming off two road setbacks last week to Auburn and Mercer.
This will be UGA's (2-4-2) first game of the spring season after the Bulldogs advanced to the second round of the Southeastern Conference tournament and fell short against the Auburn Tigers with a 2-1 loss.
The last time these two teams met was Sept. 9, 2018, in which the Owls earned a 2-1 victory against the Bulldogs. The triumph marked the first win against UGA in three meetings. The match was also KSU's first victory over an SEC opponent since 2012.
On Sunday Feb. 28, the Owls hit the road again to take on the Lipscomb Bisons in their first ASUN Conference match of the season in Nashville, Tenn.
The Owls are looking to redeem themselves after a 1-1 tie last season in an ASUN championship match against the Bisons. LU advanced on penalty kicks in Nashville.
Although the match ended with a tie, the Owls outshot the Bison's 20-9 with a 7-2 shots-on-target advantage.
The Bisons are coming off a 13-6-2 record from the 2019 season. LU is 1-1 to start the spring season.
