KENNESAW, Ga. – Senior
Marissa Gore of the Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team has been recognized for her achievements in the classroom Friday, earning the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology (SPCEET) Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award.
The award is given annually to one student who demonstrates SPCEET ideals, such as outstanding academic achievement, co-curricular participation and leadership, research and/or service.
"Marissa's work ethic both in the classroom and on the field is truly impressive," said Head Coach
Laura Maness. "She is an example to her peers that you can accomplish big things if you keep your focus. We are so proud of her!"
A 2019 ASUN All-Academic team selection, Gore currently maintains a 4.0 GPA as an Electrical Engineering major while interning with the Lockheed Martin aerospace company.
The Alpharetta, Ga., native was also one of 10 student-athletes to be named a 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District selection. Representing District 4, which covers Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, she stood out in the at-large category which encompasses 16 different NCAA sports.

To earn a degree in Electrical Engineering with a 4.0 GPA while competing as a division I student-athlete is very impressive. Congrats to her and her hard work!"
Not only has Gore excelled in the classroom, but she has done so while standing out on the lacrosse field as well earning Second Team All-ASUN honors in 2019. She also ranks among KSU's top-10 all-time for career points (9th), assists (9th), draw controls (3rd) and caused turnovers (6th).
