KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's soccer team will be shooting for its second win of the season on Friday night when it travels to Auburn at 6 p.m. eastern at the Auburn Soccer Complex.

The Tigers (4-4-2) will be opening the start of their spring season against the Owls (1-0) as they are coming off a 10-game conference-only fall schedule. Auburn advanced to the SEC tournament quarterfinals in November.

The Owls have faced the Tigers twice in the past and fell short both times. Most recently in 2011, the Owls lost 4-0.

After coming off a 1-0 win against the Jacksonville Dolphins last weekend, the Owls were able to win their first season opener since the 2018.

On Sunday, the Owls head to Betts Stadium at 4 p.m. as they take on the Mercer University Bears in Macon, Ga.

The in-state rivals hold a 2-5-1 record for the season and defeated the Owls 2-1 in the 2019 season. That match ended in double overtime as both teams fought for 108 minutes.

Although the Owls came up short in 2019, they hold a 9-4-2 overall record against the Bears.

Following this week's action, KSU travels to Georgia (Feb. 25) and Lipscomb (Feb. 28).
