KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State women's soccer coach
Benji Walton has signed a three-year contract extension, the Board of Regents announced.

Milton Overton. "He has developed a program that fosters an elite mentality on the pitch, in the classroom and in the community. I look forward to seeing the level of success that Coach Walton is capable of bringing."
Walton has seen steady growth in his team since his KSU start in 2016 and has succeeded in bringing a .500-or-higher winning percentage in every season thus far.
The Owls are on quite the successful run, sitting at the cusp of championship glory; the team has made the ASUN Championship Finals a program-record three times in a row over the last three seasons.
The KSU head coach has tallied a 58-44-10 record in his six years on the Fifth Third Bank Stadium touchline and captured his 150th career victory in September with a win over North Alabama.
"My family and I are so excited to sign another extension to stay here with the women's soccer program here at Kennesaw State," said Walton. "To be able to live out my passion for women's soccer here at KSU, a university located in my hometown, is just beyond a blessing. I want to thank all of my players and staff who have dedicated themselves to our soccer program and making it the best it can be. Over the first six years, we have had some really proud moments and some great growth, yet I know we are all still eager and hungry to push Kennesaw State women's soccer to even bigger accomplishments. I look forward to attacking these new goals together."
A total of 21 student-athletes have earned all-conference honors during Walton's tenure, but the team's performance has been just as impressive outside of the classroom. The Owls are coming off a season with three ASUN All-Academic selections, more than any program.
Walton will return to work with the KSU's soccer team in the new year, preparing the team for the 2022 season in the fall.
